The former St. Dorothy Hospital in Żagań was built in the 19th century. The building was erected on the site of a medieval hospital, the church of St. Krzyża. The hospital was designed by Leonhard Dorst von Schatzberg
court architect of Duchess Dorota. The building was erected in the years 1851-1859 in the neo-Gothic style. Today, the building is one of the most valuable monuments of the Lubuskie Province. The hospital is part of the establishment, which includes the church of st. Cross, House of Mary, House of the Bell Killer (also known as the House of the Sacristan), the Loreto chapel, the building at the gate, farm buildings and greenery.
